Belvedere resident Tom Perkin’s sailing ship “Maltese Falcon” is currently in Venezia, Italy according to the gps tracking tool on their website www.symaltesefalcon.com. The largest privately owned sailing vessel in the world (289 ft.) visited the San Francisco Bay Area in September 2008 to participate in the Leukemia Regatta Cup and to be outfitted for a submarine.
