Better Place, the battery swap and recharging station company, has unveiled an electric vehicle (EV) demonstration center in its native Israel.
The center was built inside a refurbished oil tank, which the company hopes is a symbol of the world’s transition to electric transportation.
The company also announced that it has signed deals with 92 corporate fleet owners, plus a partnership with a top Israeli gas station company, in order to deploy battery switch stations across the country. The goal is to convert a “portion” of over 45,000 internal combustion engine cars to EVs from Renault when available in 2011.
