Tenor

BEN BONGERS made his San Francisco Opera debut as Malcolm in Macbeth last season and appears in the 2008 production of Die Tote Stadt. Earlier this year he appeared as Don José in Carmen at Livermore Opera and Erik in Der Fliegende Holländer at West Bay Opera. Other recent engagements include a concert of operatic highlights with San Francisco Ballet, Manrico in Il Trovatore at San Francisco Lyric Opera, and Walther von Stolzing in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg at Berkeley Opera. Other roles in his repertoire include Rodolfo in La Bohème, Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly, and Canio in Pagliacci. He garnered critical acclaim as Cavaradossi in New West Symphony’s staged production of Tosca.

The tenor has sung extensively throughout Europe and is a former young artist of Utah Opera, Lyric Opera of Kansas City, and Utah Festival Opera. His recording credits include Mr. Butler in Douglas Moore’s The Devil & Daniel Webster (Newport Classics).

Mezzo Soprano

Mezzo soprano, JANET CAMPBELL has received accolades for her operatic and concert performances throughout the United States and abroad.

Some of her most successful roles were Arsamene in Xerxes, Ptolomeo and Sesto in Giulio Cesare, Fidalma in Il Matrimonio Segreto, Cherubino in Le Nozze di Figaro, Dorabella in Cosi Fan Tutte, the Komponist in Ariadne auf Naxos, Orlofsky in Die Fledermaus, La Cenerentola (title role), and others.

She performed with companies like Pocket Opera, Opera San Jose, Sacramento Opera, Rogue Opera, Festival Opera, Cincinnati Opera and the Mendocino Music Festival.
