The Crush Barrel Wine Market is the first of its kind to offer the consumers $10 instant rebate towards the purchase of wine. The second monthly Crush Barrel Wine Market by Vino Moda will be held Saturday July 3 at Fort Mason Center, San Francisco, California. Live music by the Jose Najera Band.

The first Crush Barrel was very successful. Several wineries sold out 3 hours into the event. This time wineries will be well prepared for wine lovers and their $10 Crush Barrel Bucks coupon towards a wine purchase. Urban Reggae band “The Dreaded Truth” had patrons dancing in the aisles in between tastings.

Aimée Puentes, soprano, has sung leading opera roles including, Zerlina in Don Giovanni,Despina in Così fan tutte, Micäela in Carmen, Sister Constance in Dialogues des Carmélites,Pamina in The Magic Flute, Musetta in La Boheme, Nannetta in Falstaff, Valencienne in The Merry Widow, Paquette in Candide, Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro, and Oscar in Un Ballo in Maschera. She has performed with the San Francisco Opera, Arizona Opera, Pensacola Opera, New Orleans Opera, Cincinnati Opera, Chautauqua Opera, Opera San Jose, Opera Southwest, West Bay Opera, Pacific Repertory Opera, Festival Opera, Sacramento Opera, and sang the role of Concha in a premiere production of Viva Concha, The Rose of The Presidio.Aimée made her debut with Opera Idaho in the 2006-2007 Season as Musetta in La Boheme.Recently Ms.Puentes sang West Side Story highlights with The Diablo Valley Symphony, Carmina Burana with The Oakland East Bay Symphony, Villa Lobos’ Bachianas Brasilieras with The Stockton Symphony, Carmina Burana with The Vallejo Symphony, and Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro with Open Opera in Oakland California. Aimee recently made her debut as Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni with Berkeley Opera.


Ms. Puentes is equally comfortable with the oratorio, and concert repertoire, in which her experience is extensive. She has performed as the soprano soloist in such works as The HaydnCreation, Handel Messiah, Orff Carmina Burana, Handel Israel in Egypt, Rutter Requiem, Mahler Symphony No.4, Mozart Verperae Solemnis, and Mass in C minor, Handel Ariodante,Dvorak Stabat Mater, Haydn Lord Nelson Mass, Brahms Requiem, Beethoven Symphony No. 9,Vaughan Williams Dona Nobis Pacem, Haydn’s Mass in time of war, an evening of pops with The Santa Cruz Symphony, Barber’s Knoxville Summer of 1915 and Bach’s Coffee Cantata with Ensemble Monterey, Mozart’s Missa solemnis with I Cantori di Carmel, an evening of Mozart with The Sacramento Philharmonic, and a concert version of Carmen with The Vallejo Symphony. Ms. Puentes has been the recipient of numerous awards including the winner of the Palm Beach Opera Vocal Competition, a semi‑finalist in the Loren L. Zachary Society Competition, finalist in the YWCA Studio Club Music Scholarship Competition, and a three time West Coast regional finalist of The Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. As a Metropolitan Finalist, she was also awarded the IIE International Vocal Competition Award. Ms. Puentes was recently named a winner of the Classical Singer Competition in the Professional level.

Saturday April 24 to Sunday April 25, 2010 marks the Opening Day Weekend at Corinthian Yacht Club in Tiburon, California. CYC members start on friday with the decorating of the boats, saturday is the Boat Judging, Pelican Grill, plus Music and Dancing with the Blues Burners.

Sunday starts at 0800 hrs with religious services and flag raising followed by a buffet breakfast. 1030 hrs is the Blessing of the Pleasure Craft. 1200 to 1900 hrs is the Special Grill on the Deck. 1400-1800 hrs is Music and Dancing on the Deck with Wendy Dewitt.

Media Alert: “OPENING DAY ON THE BAY”
MARKING THE OFFICIAL START OF SAN FRANCISCO’S 2010 BOATING SEASON

WHEN: Sunday April 25, 2010, Crissy Field to Pier 39, starting at 12 Noon.

WHAT: The 94th Annual „Opening Day on the Bay‟ Decorated Boat Parade, hosted by the Pacific Inter-Club Yacht Association (PICYA), representing over 100 yacht clubs in Northern California celebrates the official beginning of the a new boating season on San Francisco Bay. This year‟s theme is “Building Bridges.” The parade will feature over 120 historic workboats, fireboats, Vessel Assist towboats, classic and contemporary craft decorated to the theme. There will be both power and sail boats competing for best decoration honors. The theme this year is “Building Bridges.” These boats can be viewed by the public along the San Francisco waterfront from Crissy Field, which is west of the Marina Green to Pier 39, 12 noon until 3 p.m. The occasion will be a unique opportunity to see these special boats, all at the same time, sailing close to shore where land-based spectators can enjoy the event This is an event for the whole family to enjoy.

WHERE: Free public viewing is available on San Francisco‟s Northern Shoreline from Crissy Field to Pier 39.
Those seeking a closer view of the decorated boats can join the Officers, Directors and guests of PICYA on the „Californian,‟ one of the Hornblower‟s largest yachts on San Francisco Bay, with a light breakfast and a gourmet lunch. WHO: Organized by the Pacific Inter-Club Yacht Association (PICYA), which was formed in San Francisco in 1896 to improve communications between yacht clubs, provide uniform racing rules, and encourage yachting.
