Aimée Puentes, soprano, has sung leading opera roles including, Zerlina in Don Giovanni,Despina in Così fan tutte, Micäela in Carmen, Sister Constance in Dialogues des Carmélites,Pamina in The Magic Flute, Musetta in La Boheme, Nannetta in Falstaff, Valencienne in The Merry Widow, Paquette in Candide, Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro, and Oscar in Un Ballo in Maschera. She has performed with the San Francisco Opera, Arizona Opera, Pensacola Opera, New Orleans Opera, Cincinnati Opera, Chautauqua Opera, Opera San Jose, Opera Southwest, West Bay Opera, Pacific Repertory Opera, Festival Opera, Sacramento Opera, and sang the role of Concha in a premiere production of Viva Concha, The Rose of The Presidio.Aimée made her debut with Opera Idaho in the 2006-2007 Season as Musetta in La Boheme.Recently Ms.Puentes sang West Side Story highlights with The Diablo Valley Symphony, Carmina Burana with The Oakland East Bay Symphony, Villa Lobos’ Bachianas Brasilieras with The Stockton Symphony, Carmina Burana with The Vallejo Symphony, and Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro with Open Opera in Oakland California. Aimee recently made her debut as Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni with Berkeley Opera.


Ms. Puentes is equally comfortable with the oratorio, and concert repertoire, in which her experience is extensive. She has performed as the soprano soloist in such works as The HaydnCreation, Handel Messiah, Orff Carmina Burana, Handel Israel in Egypt, Rutter Requiem, Mahler Symphony No.4, Mozart Verperae Solemnis, and Mass in C minor, Handel Ariodante,Dvorak Stabat Mater, Haydn Lord Nelson Mass, Brahms Requiem, Beethoven Symphony No. 9,Vaughan Williams Dona Nobis Pacem, Haydn’s Mass in time of war, an evening of pops with The Santa Cruz Symphony, Barber’s Knoxville Summer of 1915 and Bach’s Coffee Cantata with Ensemble Monterey, Mozart’s Missa solemnis with I Cantori di Carmel, an evening of Mozart with The Sacramento Philharmonic, and a concert version of Carmen with The Vallejo Symphony. Her most recent engagements include Vorisek’s Missa in B with I Cantori di Carmel, Handel’s Messiah with The Tucson Symphony, Tippett’s A Child of our Time with The Santa CruzSymphony, and Mahler’s Symphony No. 4 with The Stockton Symphony, highlights from West Side Story with Diablo Valley Symphony, Handel’s Serse with Pocket Opera, Carmina Burana with The East Bay Oakland Symphony, Vaughan Williams A Sea Symphony with The San Jose Symphonic Choir and Finzi’s In Terra Pax with The Monterey Symphony. Ms. Puentes is excited to be a part of a benefit concert with Cabrillo Stage this April, under the baton of Maestro Cruse.

Ms. Puentes has been the recipient of numerous awards including the winner of the Palm Beach Opera Vocal Competition, a semi‑finalist in the Loren L. Zachary Society Competition, finalist in the YWCA Studio Club Music Scholarship Competition, and a three time West Coast regional finalist of The Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. As a Metropolitan Finalist, she was also awarded the IIE International Vocal Competition Award. Ms. Puentes was recently named a winner of the Classical Singer Competition in the Professional level.

About Tenor Vincent Chambers

Announcement! Introducing Tenor Vincent Chambers. (Replacing Tenor Adam Flowers, who is recovering from an illness.) A native of San Francisco, Vincent Chambers is an accomplished opera singer, actor and musician. Mr. Chambers recently made his debut with the West Bay Opera in October of 2007, singing both Canio and Turiddu in Pagliacci and Cavelleria Rusticana respectively. This past March he performed Rodolfo in Puccini’s La Boheme with San Francisco Lyric Opera, and finally returned to West Bay Opera to perform Eric in Wagner’s Flying Dutchman this past May. Previous performances include Rodrigo in Verdi’s Otello with The Westfield Symphony (NJ), and Eisenstein in Die Fledermaus with Nevada Opera Theater. He also created the role of Ragnar Brovik in a new opera by Martin Halperin at the Theater for the New City in New York called The Scaffolding, as well as Sheldon in a new opera written by Michael Sahl called “Dinner and Delusion” performed at Symphony Space in NYC, and again at NYU’s Skirball Center for NY City Opera’s VOX New Opera series.
Operatic credits in the New York area include Rodolfo in La Boheme, the title role in Tales of Hoffman, Nemorino in L’Elisir d’Amore, Alfredo in La Traviata, The Duke in Rigoletto, and Beppe in Pagliacci with regional companies including DiCapo Opera of New York, Amato Opera Theater, Rutger’s University and The Opera Company of New Jersey. Other West Coast performances include Ferrando in Mozart’s Cosi fan Tutte with South Bay Opera of Los Angeles, and Ernesto in Don Pasquale with Valley Opera of Los Angeles, and Nemorino at CSU Long Beach.

Marcello is the president of Monte Bianco Imports, the U.S. Importer for the revered Italian wines of Pinino, Bellussi and Conte d’Attimis. Baritone Torlef Borsting will be performing at the Special One Year Anniversary of the Servino Opera Dinner Nights on Wednesday, Feb 17, 2010 in Tiburon, California.

Borsting will be joining 10 year old boy Soprano Ryan Lee Nelson, Tenor Adam Flowers, Soprano Elisabeth Russ and Artistic Director and Pianist Robert Ashens.

With extensive experience as a soloist in the bay area, baritone Torlef Borsting has performed with Berkeley Opera, Trinity Lyric Opera, Sacramento Opera, West Bay Opera, North Bay Opera, Pacific Repertory Opera, Capitol Opera, Martinez Opera, Eugene Opera, as well as regular engagements with San Francisco Opera. Torlef begins a residency with Opera San Jose in July 2010.

Also an active concert performer, Mr. Borsting has performed such works as Hadyn’s Mass in Time of War with the Oakland Symphony Chorus, Kurt Weill’s Seven Deadly Sins with Symphony Parnassus, the Faure Requiem, Kodaly’s Te Deum with Oakland Civic Orchestra, Mozart’s C – Minor Mass with the Pacific Mozart Ensemble, Gounod’s St. Cecilia Mass in Morristown, New Jersey, Bernstein’s Mass with the Eugene Symphony, and Bach’s Mass in B- minor with the Oregon Bach Festival.

The Italian Wines of Monte Bianco Imports will pair with the fabulous food of this very special evening. Featuring wines from Pinino, Bellussi and Conte d’Attimis-Maniago.
