Parusso Barolo
Amazing wines from arguably the best producer in Piedmont- 2006 vintage is here! |
|
| For the month of January, we will be offering 10% on all single bottle wine purchases and 15% on cases. |
| Bussia $109 |
The 2006 Barolo Bussia reveals a multitude of balsamic, mineral-infused aromas and flavors. Large-scaled and dramatic, the Bussia sweeps across the palate, showing off tons of pedigree and sheer class. The Bussia is quite a bit more backward than the Le Coste-Mosconi, and it will require considerable cellaring, but it is a beauty. Flowers, spices and minerals waft out of the glass on the sensual, ethereal finish. This is terrifically singular Barolo, picked very very late, with some whole stem inclusion, a la Burgundy.

All Parusso on Sale This Month Only
|
| Dear Wine Lovers,
This well respected producer offers a unique perspective into the grand Nebbiolo grape. Located right at the border between the Castiglion Falletto and Monforte d’Alba appellation of Barolo, the brother and sister team, Marco and Tiziana Parusso, are growing 100% of their own grapes in 18 different parcels between the two subappellations. A young team of very talented vineyard workers, carefully educated by Marco, harvest superb lots of grapes every year. In 2006 celebrating 20 vintages under the helm of Marco, the Parusso winery stands out by pronouncing its own path. A winemaking process was defined in this winery that is already leading example for many young vintners around the world.

Dear Robert,
Ah June…The warm and festive atmosphere that the beginning of summer brings always puts a smile upon our face. Its a month where we celebrate our Dads, congratulate our grads and linger on the patio late into the evening to enjoy the warmer nights. If you haven’t yet taken advantage of our outdoor terrace with the fresia in full bloom and endless parade of people watching- now is the time. We are now also open 7 days a week so you can visit us all week long. Don’t miss our second annual Pink Party where we don our favorite pink clothing and quaff obscene amounts of rosé. Come in and try our new cured meats from Creminelli Salumi and shop for your Dad.

Creminelli Salummi
Organic, Handmade Goodness
Creminelli meats are handmade under the supervision of master artisan, Cristiano Creminelli. Cristiano insists on using choice cuts of meat from select breeds, fed with organic white grains and raised on small family farms. Organic spices are employed cautiously in the European tradition to complement and not overwhelm the flavorful, well-marbled natural pork.
The Creminelli family has been producing artisan meat products as far back as the 1600s. Cristiano, was the first meat producer in the province to receive the prestigious Artisanal Excellence award, bestowed by the Piedmont Region and the Slow Food organization for the quality and taste of his salumi .
We carry two flavors of salumi, Sopressatta and Casalingo. Both are available to eat here or take home and are distinctly different. Sopressata is known for having a more robust taste thanks to the generous amount of garlic added. Just before stuffing, additional spices are added including crushed garlic and a generous portion of wine. The Casalingo is well known for its simple and natural ingredients. A small quantity of salt, pepper and spice is all that is needed to enhance the remarkable quality of the pork. It does not have a strong, overbearing taste and this is the secret of its success: sweetness and simplicity.
|
 |
A sincere “Thank-You” to all of our wonderful customers. We look forward to seeing you in the shop soon.
Cheers,
Brooke Tognazzini and Cate Hughes

Cal-Burgundy Tasting!
LIOCO has set out to produce a true “wine of origin.” Their focus is to produce un-oaked, naturally- fermented Chardonnay, as well as gently treated (low wood impact) Pinot Noir using native yeasts and buying only from pedigreed growers. They believe that careful vineyard selection combined with a restrained winemaking approach will produce compelling wine.

Cal-Burgundy! Saturday the 10th 5-7pm

Join Saturday the 10th from 5-7pm along with owner Matt Licklider as he walks us through an informative and delicious tasting of seven of their scrumptious wines. Light canapés will be served.
