The Heritage & Arts Commission will be hosting an artist’s reception for Tiburon photographer Jim Wood on February 8 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Community Room at Town Hall.  Wood has a fascination for city skylines, so his show entitled “Marin and The City” is composed of photos taken from the same location in the Tiburon hills of the peninsula tip and the San Francisco skyline.  The show will be on display until March 30.

The Heritage & Arts Commission will be hosting an artist’s reception for Tiburon painter Graciela Placak on December 14 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Community Room at Town Hall.  Graciela’s vivid oil paintings feature familiar peninsula scenes, colorful abstracts, and portraits.  The art will be on display through December 23.

A show of colorful artwork by Angela Gonzalez will kick-off with a free public reception in Town Hall on Wednesday, October 5,  6-8 p.m.  Entitled “Classic and Contemporary Works”, the show includes oil paintings with the richness of color found in the work of old masters, as well as Ms. Gonzalez’s new technique of applying small pieces of glass to the surface of a painting.  The show will be on display upstairs in the Community Room until the end of November.  Learn more about Angela Gonzalez on her website: http://www.artbygonzalez.com.

The Heritage & Arts Commission will be hosting an artist’s reception for Paradise Cay painter Rita Myers on August 3 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Community Room at Town Hall.  Ms. Myers’ exhibit will feature originals and giclee prints of animals, flowers and scenics.  The art will be on display through the end of September.

A water-colorist since childhood, Suzanne Bean set aside her paints to begin working with digital photography in 2002.  Her exhibit at Town Hall, “Field Notes: New Work”, highlights her mastery of combining several images into a computerized abstract collage. She prints the images on sheet aluminum which is then coated with a clear finish. ” The advantage to this process is that the picture pops out and is eye catching, and it’s also waterproof.”  The Heritage & Arts Commission will be hosting a reception for Suzanne on June 8th, in the community room at Town Hall.  Her show will be on display until the end of July.
